Our final film name is Bitter Twisted Lies as we feel that it conveys the betrayal that is integrated in our narrative, which we agreed was the best name for our film and is something that goes against the normal conventions of a romance, which we are essentially trying to create similar to that of a postmodern film.I decided to go onto font generators to experiment with titles that could be used in our film.I wanted something quite medieval in its stylistic conventions , that appeared quite quirky and different. Firstly I looked under Gothic and tried Gothic font. The two below was the ones that I liked the most. This was done on DA font .com.

Gothic font, if used this should be left as it is or perhaps made white and put against a black
background for an inversion of text, making it stand out against the page.Perhaps it could be outlined in red however or have red blobs dripping from it making it quite sinister in its nature and thus expressing the narrative of the film. This could be done on photo shop but we have to be careful to not make it seem too 'fake' or 'arty'. |

Celtic font
This should be kept the same as its simplistic in its presentation yet effective in the way its set out on the page.We could make certain letters bigger than the others e.g the first letters of each words although capitalised should hang below the less significant letters.Perhaps we could also outline the bigger letters a deep red for bigger impact. |

Gothic font
I like the way that this appears stencil drawn and medieval in its mannerisms, giving the film a sense of an archaic narrative or indicating that there is something not right in the film.In this case its the love triangle which I'm not unaware of.We should if this is used, put it on a parchment, or give it that effect or maybe even as though it is a letter and have a pen on screen producing each letter as it goes.I really like this idea but I'm not sure how this can be replicated. However this is something that can be researched, which I will do at a later point.
Initial font
Similarly this could be used with this font but even more so if it was imprinted on an envelope, with a red seal for added effect, which could be tossed across the screen to show disregard and would show originality in its demise .
Various fonts
This would be effective if it was against a watercolour background of Gothic trees that are intertwined to give a sense of foreshadowing over the film itself .The watercolour effect perhaps could have a blue tint effect to implement a sense of fantasy and is an idea which I picked up from the Jane Eyre film poster.
Calligraphy font
This should be encased in a text box that is outlined in thick black and perhaps should be tilted in terms of its position upon screen before expanding and fading out into the next scene.
Greek font
This could be outlined in gold and white which of course are colours which you would associate with the ancient Greek culture and therefore appropriates the font being used. The I's should be expanded lengthwise and rotated to topple over the next letter to give an impression of destruction.
Brush font
This should be done on a crumpled piece of paper on screen, with a paintbrush literally as though someone is painting at that present moment. It should be done with red and black alternating between the two.
Stencil
This promotes fantasy elements, through the use of presumable ivy being twined round certain letters.Green, red and pink should be used but brighter tones rather than darker, almost neon in its colour.the green should be used for the creeping stem and pink for the buds upon it, whilst red is of course used for the initial letters.
Stencil font
This is an interesting one and perhaps one you may not associate with a romance film which is why I like it, I feel we should create something that is different and that will surprise the watcher- therefore this should be implemented from the start. This of course should be done in dark red as though it is the colour of blood. However I don't know whether this would be appropriate to use since it may depict death rather than betrayal.
Eroded font
This is another intriguing font and would be amazing to use within our piece. The black bits around the texts should be red whilst the bits inside the initials should be left as it is for dramatic impact.Perhaps there could be a shadow protruding out of it as though it is a dark cloud hanging over the cast members, indicating to the audience something bad will happen- but they are not sure exactly what this will be. |
