Soundtrack research-Amir's piano showcase

After our experimentation on the web program Cubase, we decided to contact Amir immediately and asked him whether he would be able to provide the music on our trailer to which he replied that he would be delighted to perform a composition for us.We asked him that our requirements needed a haunting, emotive piece, that was slow in pace yet dramatic in notes. He showed us three compositions and out of the three I adjudicated the best composition was the first one.I felt that it was an accurate piece that reflected the mood tangent of our film and thus will give the audience the chance to empathise with the characters much more in-depth.

I thought of some ideas reflecting off the showcase which included the following:
  • Layered composition- Amir records the composition using different instruments( this would be on Cubase) including Harp, Piano and Violin which gives the effect of a comprised harmony.
  • This should be done with a harmony of voices- e.g. me and Aimee could compile a harmony that will connote the overall theme of the film. Not only does this show originality but also I think it would be quite unique and fun to do.
  • We should record sound effects to imitate action e.g. footsteps to make it realistic and this is something which we ran out of time to do last year, so its vital that we take time comprising our piece but move quickly enough to fulfil the subjective aims .Therefore when we have finished all this we can go back and improve it.
