EDITING 29TH FEB

I began by showing Charley the underworld film love scene starring Kate Beckinsale in order to show her the effectiveness of certain scenes which I have outlined in a previous post. She thought the idea of subtlety was a good one especially since we'd be showcasing our film to our peers and the last thing we want is for them to think that that is what our whole film is about, instead of them understanding that is about being betrayed by the people you love most, particularly when you are in the early stages of cancer.
 Next we began editing  and put our shots into the timeline, not placing them in chronological order as we needed to get shots edited first before we thought of ordering the film. Working with Adobe  turned out to be very difficult in this lesson as we encountered several problems such as freezing, saying it was out of memory uploading shots with no pictures. In the end we called IT and they fixed this for us.

We then began cutting shots where Chris and Amiee was laughing which ended up being quite a few shots. Here are the following edits that we made:

• In one of the shots where the camera pans up Chris and Amiee's body, the shot ends in them laughing and looking directly into the camera. We cut this out completely since we filmed this particular shot quite a few times.
• In one particular shot Chris pushed Amiee onto the bed in lust and passion. I suggested that we cut the shot to the point where Chris has pushed her and then use them on the bed in conjunction with the other bed shots. However I also suggested that we cut them moving on the bed out following the advice of Nicole.
• In one of the pan shots I noticed that Chris bit his lip which looked really effective and suggested that we cut it there. Charley then had the good idea of placing a normal pan up shot into this shot before transcending into a two shot/close up where Chris looks up at Amiee, with wide eyes as though he cannot believe his luck. This looked very effective.
• We then noticed in one of the earlier shots that alot of inappropriate material such as hangers and a sticker on the floor where in the shot so we cut this out of the scene.

Then at the end of the lesson we quickly discussed when we would be filming and editing as we have only got two weeks until our deadline:

Tomorrow( Thursday the 1St of March) period one, two and possibly 3- filming

Friday 2nd March period one and after school

Sunday 4th March afternoon

Monday 5th March Editing 2nd period

Tuesday 6th March Editing after school

Wednesday- possibly

Friday 9th March after school
