Editing period 3 and 4- 8th March 2012- Practicing inter titles

Within these two periods I practised creations of our film title ' Bitter Twisted Lies', in in order to see what effects, fonts, colours, sizes and dimensions were available ect,

I chose this type of font for its calligraphic-al effect, which conforms to the typical conventions of a Romantic Genre film, the use of colour inversion against the black background making it stand out and look clean and professional. However it does look quite boring without the use of colour.I would prefer something that is more vibrant i.e. the use of a red outline to display the colour of romance and passion.

Again this uses white but it also contains a fill as well as outline so it does stand out more against the page , especially emphasised through the use of the bold capitalised font. This would look effective with a one by one effect particularly.

Although the colour is not right I like the stylism of the font because although it is a form of calligraphy, it also uses flicky ends which would look really good if this was red then outlined in black but unfortunately it is not possible ( as far as I know) to obtain this which is why I looked at other fonts as well.

I chose to use this one because it was quite quirky and unusual, looking as though  its been handwritten in a way. Perhaps for our title we could have someone write the title out in calligraphy written handwriting one by one in separate frames before merging it all together to form the title.

This is just a title sequence that is simplistic, which we could use if we were going by traditional font effects.

This is another quirky font that appears to be a stencilled effect which is interesting as we could create something similar to this e.g. using stencils on paper, writing it one by one to create a consecutive effect.

I think this may be my favourite one because its fusion of red and white against the black background makes it look very effective. However I'm not sure if it leans more towards the horror genre than romance.

This is similar to when I did research into da- font. com, a font generator covering all stylisms  and eras ; this appears to look Greek which adds to the almost mythical feel to the film- this is because  Amiee and Chris's reality i.e. passionate romance is my hyper reality.

Another calligraphy style font, but this is more distinguished through its use of stars, which could represent my burning need to rid myself of this solidarity that I am burdened with . However I am not sure whether this just looks tacky and un- authentic.

This is where I began playing around with transitions and effects to see what different types there were:

Doors effect

cross- dissolve- very simple but effective
Dip to white- I think this is my favourite because it just looks quite unusual but would look quite effective if it then transcended into ' coming soon'

This was quite a strange effect which I just tried to see what it would look like. The luminance map appears to smudge out certain letters and it seems better suited to an action film.

This was the halo rim effect, which gave it a luminous angelic feel- perhaps we could have this and then combine it with the dip to white as this might prove an interesting combination.

Glow soft again giving it a luminous edge that displays purity and innocence.

3-d- this is an interesting effect but with the use of red looks better suited to a horror film

Clockwipe effect- this would be good actually to use in our clock scene where the clock is ticking.

Then I had a look at several effects which included extract, ghosting, line drawing, old film, echo and black and white. All of these allowed me to discover and experiment with different effects to see which I like best.
